Work experience at Rick Stein's - Day 7 - Early Larder

My last day at Rick Stein's - another day in larder. I actually really enjoyed working in larder. Today I got to check all the lobsters and crab if they are still alive and kill the ones that weren't by throwing them into boiling water. Then I had to cook and kill some more velvet crabs and prepare them as yesterday.

Service called for my action in terms of making another Freddy.
Afterwards I opened and cleaned about 50 scallops. Peeled and deveined prawns. Deshelled a whole other load of scallops and then went on to filleting more lemon sole. I don't remember how many but many there were.
By that time it was 4 pm and my last shift over. It was weird to say Good Bye because I felt very welcome and at home already after only one week. It seemed strange not to go back the next day. However, my feet were hurting and my legs tired and really my hands were quite sore as well. So to finish of this week in Padstow and at Rick Stein's in style, I treated myself to some of his fish and chips:
