Demonstration 18 - Wine Lecture 5 - Grape varieties Riesling, Grenache and Syrah/Shiraz

Riesling, Syrah/Shiraz and Grenache - I am not sure why these grape varieties were put together in a lecture (maybe I missed that part in the lecture) but the lecturer made a great emphasis on the fact that we are talking about the grape varieties and NOT the regions they are grown in such as Rhône, Barossa Valley, Rheingau or Alsace.

I really like Riesling so it was great to have a taste of a German Piesporter and an Australian one to compare. And I must say I liked the German one better. But apparently in Britain mostly Liebfraumilch and Hock have been known for a long time and ruined Riesling's reputation. It's only now slowly starting to be appreciated over here.
